As a teacher, I found myself in a position where I wanted to bring a change in my career. I had a passion for music and I wished to find a way to turn that passion into a career. The first step I took was to inquire about music teaching resources. What I needed for my career was teaching music aids From my research, I discovered a broad assortment of resources available for music teachers. For example, I found lesson plans and activities that provided step-by-step instructions for teaching different musical concepts and skills. These lesson plans also included suggestions for interactive games and activities to engage students. Another resource that I found beneficial was sheet music and recordings. These resources allowed me to provide students with the sheet music for the songs and pieces they were learning, as well as recordings of the original performances for listening and analysis. In addition to these resources, I also found I needed to provide students with access to musical instruments and equipment. This included pianos, guitars, drums, and other percussion instruments. To measure student understanding and progress, I found assessment tools such as music recitals, quizzes, and posters to be helpful. I found many online resources functional, such as interactive games, quizzes, videos, and printable worksheets. Lastly, I established attending professional development opportunities, such as courses, workshops, and conferences, which helped me stay current with the latest teaching methods and resources in music education. What were the most valuable resources for teaching music? I found Lioncrest online and they had almost everything I needed. As a new music teacher, I have been looking for resources which could lead to helping make my job easier and more effective. And, I have to say, I have found some truly incredible resources over the years. But, if I had to pick the most useful one, I would have to mention Lioncrest and their Music Express series. This series is organized for primary music education and it has everything you could possibly need. Each book contains a year's worth of weekly lesson plans, with over 100 activities, photocopiable lyric sheets, and a wealth of songs, stories, visuals, movies and music from around the world and throughout history. But that's not all. The series also comes with CDs of performance, backing and teaching audio tracks, and a DVD with whiteboard displays for all lessons with audio, graphics, movies, and slide shows. In addition to that, Lioncrest's Music Express also offers an online component with six medium-term lesson plans and 36 fully-prepared weekly lesson plans, a glossary, and background information. And, the best part is that it's all designed for teachers who may not have a music background, so you don't have to be a music expert to use it.
Another resource that I Lioncrest offers and I found to be extremely helpful is Music Express Online. This website is an extensive lesson bank that includes planning documents, hundreds of classroom activities, video and audio support, teaching tips, and assessment sheets. Plus, it has a song bank of over 400 songs, a wide range of warm-ups and musical skill builders for every age group, and a complete ukulele teaching course. It's designed to make teaching music easy and fun for any teacher. Overall, I believe that these resources are truly invaluable for any music teacher looking to make their job easier and more effective. They provide a wealth of ideas, activities, and materials that can be used to invigorate music in any school, regardless of prior musical experience. Final thoughts to consider When it comes to teaching music, it's important to remember that every student is different and will learn in different ways. Therefore, it's crucial to have a variety of resources and teaching methods at your disposal. Some students may respond better to visual aids, while others may learn better through hands-on activities. It's also essential to remember that music education is not just about teaching how to play an instrument or read sheet music, it's also about fostering creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong love for music.
